Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, typical 3x12 schedule with rotating weekends

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to critically ill neonates in a Level IV NICU
Perform advanced procedures including whole body cooling, high frequency ventilation, and chest tube management
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and unit secretaries
Support family-centered care and deliver an exceptional patient experience
Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and operate specialized equipment like Medela, Alaris, and Drager
Educate and support families through the NICU journey

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year recent acute care NICU hospital experience
Current BLS and NRP certifications
Active Kansas RN license (or compact license if eligible)
Level IV NICU experience preferred
Prior experience with Meditech EMR preferred
Travel experience to large teaching facilities preferred

Knowledge & Skills

NICU nursing and neonatal resuscitation
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Meditech EMR proficiency
High-frequency ventilation and surgical case management
Family-centered care and developmental supportive care
Strong communication and teamwork skills
