Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the MST unit during the night shift
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythms and patient status
• Administer medications, perform assessments, and document care thoroughly
• Collaborate with physicians, MDT members, and ancillary staff to coordinate safe care transitions
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Escalate clinical concerns promptly and participate in handoffs to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or compact privilege where applicable
• Minimum clinical experience caring for telemetry or medical-surgical patients preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred or able to obtain
• Strong assessment, documentation, and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to work independently during night shifts and communicate clearly with the care team
• Willingness to complete site-specific orientation and credentialing prior to shift

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required or equivalent
• BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Medical-surgical nursing knowledge and experience with common inpatient conditions
• Electronic health record documentation and point-of-care charting
• Patient education, discharge planning, and family communication
• Prioritization, delegation, and time management during 12-hour night shifts
