Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care to assigned patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond promptly to telemetry alerts and changes
• Float across med-surg units including Ortho, Neurology Step Down, Oncology, Surgical Telemetry and West Lakes Campus
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary teams to create and execute patient care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications and document care in the patient record
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and skills checklist completion
• Maintain infection control, safety standards and required personal health screenings

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications (as listed)
• Experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Telemetry or equivalent acute care experience
• Willingness and ability to float to multiple campuses including West Lakes
• Completion of facility-required fit test, drug screen, immunizations and health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Acute care assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Charting and documentation in electronic health records
• Strong communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Ability to adapt quickly when floating between specialties
