Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms to keep patients safe
• Provide expert post-procedural nursing care for patients staying 1-3 nights
• Manage cath lab patient needs and collaborate with procedural teams
• Assess, triage, and care for occasional ER overflow patients when needed
• Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the EMR
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Respond to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment and timely escalation

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Iowa) or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in telemetry, medical-surgical and post-operative nursing
• Comfort caring for cath lab patients and handling occasional ER overflow
• Willingness to complete Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Skills Checklist
• Able to meet health requirements including fit test, drug screen, immunizations, and TB screening

• Cath lab patient care essentials
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Accurate and timely electronic documentation
• Ability to function in a fast-paced inpatient surgical environment
