Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care for adult and pediatric patients on a MedSurg/Peds unit
• Apply and manage telemetry leads and collaborate with monitor techs for accurate cardiac monitoring
• Troubleshoot BiPAP and work with respiratory therapy for advanced respiratory needs
• Perform safe medication administration and manage electrolyte/IV drips per unit policy
• Serve collaboratively with charge nurses and take assignments when needed
• Float to ED/ICU for 1:1 care as required, demonstrating adaptability and clinical focus
• Document patient care accurately in MEDITECH and communicate concerns with the care team
• Adhere to facility fit testing requirements and infection control policies

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS and PALS certifications (required)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• Experience with MedSurg and Pediatrics patient populations
• Comfortable using MEDITECH for documentation and charting
• Willingness to pass required fit testing; facial hair may require removal per facility policy
• Ability to float to ED/ICU and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
• Not currently full-time/part-time/PRN with any CommonSpirit facility (CHI/Dignity) and within 50 mile radius rule compliance

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong MedSurg and pediatric nursing knowledge
• Telemetry application and monitoring skills
• Electrolyte and IV drip management understanding
• Experience troubleshooting BiPAP and collaborating with RT
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
• Ability to prioritize patient safety and escalate concerns appropriately
• Charge nurse experience or comfort taking assignments is a plus
• Self-scheduling and time-management capabilities
