Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate post-surgical and medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients
• Perform thorough assessments, monitor patient status, and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and manage specialty equipment such as IV pumps, NG and feeding tubes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Safely float to other units as required to support patient care needs
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active NY RN license verified via NURSYS with all active RN licenses
• Minimum 2+ years of medical-surgical (MS) nursing experience (travel experience required)
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Hands-on experience with EPIC electronic medical records
• Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics (per submission requirements)
• RTO documentation must be included at time of submission
• Ability to float and adapt to changing unit assignments and patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg clinical judgment and post-operative care skills
• Proficiency with IV pumps, NG tubes and enteral/feeding tube management
• Comfort caring for adult patients with a range of diagnoses including bariatric and post-surgical needs
• Excellent clinical documentation skills in EPIC
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to coordinate with interdisciplinary teams
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced acute care environment
