Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to cardiac and ICU patients, ensuring safety and excellent outcomes
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and manage PA catheters to guide treatment
• Care for patients on mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella) and respond to device needs
• Perform and support procedures such as central line and Swan-Ganz insertions and intubations
• Manage ventilated patients and participate in airway interventions as needed
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clinical changes to the multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate in the growing cardiogenic shock program to deliver specialized, high-acuity care

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (eligible to work in TN) and minimum 2 years ICU/cardiac nursing experience
• ACLS required and BLS required
• Strong critical care and cardiac experience with familiarity in hemodynamic monitoring
• Hands-on experience with PA catheter monitoring, IABP and Impella preferred
• Experience with central line care and familiarity with Swan-Ganz procedures
• Comfort with ventilator management and assisting with intubations
• CRRT experience preferred but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and PA catheter (Swan-Ganz) interpretation
• Care and troubleshooting for IABP and Impella devices
• Central line insertion care and post-procedure management
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Meditech documentation and electronic charting skills
• Ventilator management and airway support skills
• Ability to work in a 2:1 patient ratio environment and prioritize critical interventions
• Familiarity with cardiogenic shock protocols and high-acuity cardiac care
