Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Variable days (primarily daytime), 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM; 8-hour day shifts with required call rotation (weekday and weekend coverage). Call shifts may include 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating/variable schedule including weekends and holidays.

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients undergoing GI/endoscopy procedures
• Assist with and monitor procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, sigmoidoscopy and biopsies
• Perform bleeding control interventions and immediate post-procedure assessments
• Chart thoroughly and accurately in Cerner to maintain clear patient records
• Participate in call rotation, responding to weekday, weekend and holiday coverage as assigned
• Float to Short Stay when needed to support patient flow and unit needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (must be able to submit license)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (as posted)
• Comfortable with GI/endoscopy procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, biopsies, PEG)
• Willingness to participate in call rotation and float to Short Stay
• Able to complete a 12-hour orientation

Education

• Active RN license in California
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in GI/endoscopy procedures and peri-procedural nursing care
• Experience charting in Cerner
• Ability to monitor sedation and respond to procedural complications
• Competence in bleeding control and urgent procedure support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills during fast-paced procedures
• Clinical assessment and post-procedure recovery monitoring
