Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care—assess, triage, and stabilize patients quickly and confidently
• Coordinate with ED physicians, techs, and support staff to create efficient patient flow
• Administer medications, IVs, and emergency interventions according to protocol
• Document patient assessments, treatments, and changes in condition clearly and timely in the chart
• Educate patients and families on care plans and next steps with empathy and clarity
• Contribute to a culture of safety by following infection control, safety protocols, and best practices

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license appropriate for practice in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Emergency department clinical experience preferred (per-diem candidates welcome)
• Current immunizations and required health screenings per facility policy
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Professional references and ability to pass background/credentialing checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Completion of accredited nursing program and current RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in triage, rapid patient assessment, and emergency interventions
• Proficient with IV starts, medication administration, and wound care
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation and charting
• Excellent communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary settings
• Ability to manage multiple critical patients while maintaining attention to detail
• Calm under pressure with strong situational awareness and prioritization
