Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to adults and children presenting to the ER
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care based on acuity
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with facility protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care in a clear and supportive way
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, participating in codes and rapid response as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Previous ER or critical care experience preferred; comfortable with high-acuity patients
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and emergency response skills
• Valid immunizations and required background checks per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department triage and workflow knowledge
• Proficient with IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Ability to interpret EKGs and recognize arrhythmias
• Comfortable with rapid assessment and stabilization of trauma and medical emergencies
• Familiarity with common EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills under pressure
