Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered dialysis care to adults and/or pediatrics on your unit
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot dialysis machines while ensuring safety and compliance
• Monitor patient status during treatments and intervene quickly for changes in condition
• Assess vascular access and perform routine access care and documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families about dialysis treatment, self-care, and follow-up plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (as specified in the posting)
• Experience or specialty training in dialysis preferred or demonstrable clinical competency
• BLS required; additional certifications such as ACLS or dialysis-specific credentials encouraged per facility requirements
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of hemodialysis procedures and patient fluid/electrolyte management
• Familiarity with dialysis equipment and ability to follow safety and infection control standards
• Skilled in vascular access assessment and monitoring
• Proficient clinical documentation and medication administration practices
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to clinical emergencies
