Shift Type: Primarily Monday-Friday, day shift (exact start/end times vary); must be flexible to work mid shifts and take Open Heart call as required

Hours per Week: 40

Bill Rate: $50,000 sign-on bonus

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care for cardiac open-heart cases in the CVOR
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes
Maintain sterile technique and ensure a safe, efficient operating room environment
Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures and communicate status to the team and families
Participate in Open Heart call rotations and respond as needed to urgent surgical cases
Document care thoroughly and adhere to hospital policies and quality standards
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support the growth of the OR team

Qualifications

Current RN licensure required
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart experience required
CVOR experience preferred
BSN preferred; candidates who commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire will be considered
Willingness and ability to participate in Open Heart call and occasional mid shifts

Education

BSN preferred (commitment to obtain within 3 years considered)
Current RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong operating room and perioperative nursing skills
Hands-on experience with cardiac open-heart procedures
Excellent sterile technique and OR safety practices
Clear, calm communication and teamwork in high-stakes situations
Patient- and family-centered care focus
Reliable clinical judgment and solid documentation habits
