Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic mammography and CT exams across patient age ranges with professional judgment and radiation protection principles
• Conduct screening and diagnostic mammography, specimen radiography, breast needle localization, and stereotactic breast biopsy
• Assist with CT interventional procedures, set up and run automatic injectors, and alter protocols for pediatric/adolescent/geriatric patients as needed
• Maintain departmental quality assurance programs, daily/weekly QC, and accurate patient records
• Transfer patients safely to and from radiology and provide compassionate, age-appropriate care
• Support sterile technique and venipuncture as part of interventional procedures and supply appropriate documentation
• Participate in tele-radiology transmission, consult with referring physicians, and assist in supply inventory and ordering
• Rotate shifts, assume department responsibility in supervisor absence, and perform ancillary duties as requested

Qualifications

• Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — must be obtained within 45 days of start
• Clinical Competency Assessment — required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform diagnostic exams across assigned modalities and maintain competency in ancillary modalities
• Mammography proficiency: documented performance (per ACR/FDA) and pursuit of required CEUs
• Experience or demonstrated ability to assist with CT interventional procedures and use contrast/automatic injectors
• Willingness to rotate shifts, be on-call, and travel as needed to cover SEARHC sites

Education

• Current ARRT in Radiography (certification required)
• BLS (American Heart Association) — required within 45 days
• Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) — required within 3 months; revalidation every 3 years
• Mammography CEUs: 5 mammography CEU credits per year per ACR/FDA requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiation protection and quality control procedures
• ACR/FDA mammography compliance and documentation requirements
• Automatic injector operation, contrast administration, and contraindication awareness
• Tele-radiology transmission, sterile technique, and venipuncture
• Multimodality imaging skills (Mammo, CT, Ultrasound, MRI basics)
• Patient care across the lifespan and cultural sensitivity
• Record maintenance, departmental QA, and supply/inventory management
