Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' mobility, strength and functional needs to create meaningful therapy goals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and independence
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and gait training
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on home programs, safety and fall prevention
• Mentor and support therapy assistants and colleagues to maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in Florida (or compact licensure where applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist (experience in acute care or inpatient settings preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or graduation from an accredited physical therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evaluation and treatment planning for adult inpatient populations
• Proficient with therapeutic exercise, manual techniques and modalities as appropriate
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize workload and manage a varied caseload
