Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute care hospital setting to establish functional needs and goals
• Develop and implement individualized care plans that progress patient function and independence
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary cases
• Document clinical findings and plans accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, rehab techs, and nursing staff
• Communicate evaluation results and progress clearly to patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Use and instruct safe use of patient lifting equipment and mobility aids to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (must have)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (job indicates Experience: 2)
• Acute care experience preferred; at least 1 year in acute settings is a plus
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary patients is helpful
• Familiarity with Cerner PowerChart or similar electronic medical record systems

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and development of goal-driven care plans
• Documentation using Cerner PowerChart
• Supervision and coordination of therapeutic services
• Safe patient handling and use of equipment such as SARA+, Stedy, and Maximove
• Clinical skills across orthopedics, neurology, and cardiopulmonary rehab
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
