Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care inpatient rehab setting and establish individualized care plans
• Deliver therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care, collaborating with PTAs, OTs, SLPs and rehab techs
• Use patient lifting equipment and assistive devices safely and effectively during treatments
• Document patient status, progress and plans accurately in Cerner PowerChart
• Communicate evaluation results and progress to patients, families and the interdisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of Physical Therapy experience (Experience: 2)
• At least 1 year of acute care experience preferred, with experience in orthopedics, neurology or cardiopulmonary helpful
• Comfortable using Cerner PowerChart for documentation

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation and care plan development in acute care settings
• Therapeutic techniques across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary populations
• Supervising and coordinating therapeutic care with interdisciplinary teams
• Proficient documentation in Cerner PowerChart
• Safe use of patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove), walkers and gait belts
• Strong patient communication and education skills
