Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient mobility, strength and functional status to create individualized treatment plans
• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions to improve balance, gait and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and rehab team members to coordinate patient-centered care
• Document patient assessments, progress and discharge plans accurately and on time
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Mississippi or eligible to obtain licensure prior to start
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Clinical experience in physical therapy; inpatient rehabilitation or post-acute care experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Reliable, professional and patient-focused approach to care

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred, or Bachelor's/Master's in Physical Therapy where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in evaluation techniques, therapeutic exercise and gait training
• Experience with manual therapy and mobility assistive devices
• Knowledge of documentation standards and rehab outcome measures
• Comfortable using electronic medical records
• Excellent clinical reasoning and patient education skills
