Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled therapeutic interventions and assist patients with restorative exercises and mobility
• Implement treatment plans under the supervision of the physical therapist to improve patient function
• Document patient progress clearly and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy team members, and family to ensure coordinated care
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to facility infection control policies

Qualifications

• Current PTA license or eligible for PTA licensure in North Carolina
• Completion of an accredited PTA program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required health screenings
• Comfortable working hands-on with adult and/or geriatric patients and standing for shifts
• Previous experience in outpatient, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing settings a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and use of assistive devices
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with patient care workflows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage patients and families
• Ability to follow care plans, take direction from supervising PTs, and work collaboratively
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and adaptability in a busy rehab setting

This is a 14-week travel contract based at Powerback - Contract in Mount Olive. Raleigh is an easy drive for museums, dining, and city amenities, and coastal beaches are within a manageable weekend trip.
