Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist therapists in delivering effective, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient
• Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions and progress patients through exercises and mobility programs
• Monitor and document patient responses, progress, and any changes in condition in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about home exercise programs and safe mobility techniques
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support holistic patient care and discharge planning
• Ensure safe patient handling and assist with transfers, gait training, and adaptive equipment use

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Pennsylvania or able to obtain state licensure
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required; additional certifications a plus
• Comfortable working in a post-acute/rehabilitation setting and collaborating with nursing staff
• Strong communication skills and reliable documentation practices
• Able to pass facility onboarding requirements and background checks

Education

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility
• Familiar with common PT modalities and adaptive equipment
• Proficient with patient assessment, goal-setting, and progress documentation
• Able to prioritize patient safety and infection control practices
• Team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and teaching skills
