Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality physical therapy services according to individualized treatment plans
• Document patient progress and outcomes promptly and accurately in the EMR
• Provide one-on-one care and education to patients and their families to promote recovery
• Monitor and report progress toward identified objectives and adjust care as directed
• Oversee compliance for your current patient caseload and maintain accurate records
• Participate actively in a positive, collaborative team environment to improve patient care
• Demonstrate leadership in time management, communication, and flexible problem solving

Qualifications

• Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current Maryland state licensure in Physical Therapy or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience preferred; new grads with strong acute clinical rotations welcome
• Proven EMR documentation skills and attention to accurate, timely records
• Strong communication, time management, flexibility, and leadership skills
• Commitment to patient-centered one-on-one care and continuing education

Education

• Degree from an accredited school approved by CAPTE (Physical Therapist Assistant)

Knowledge & Skills

• Hospital acute care practices and protocols
• EMR documentation and patient record management
• Orthopedics, neurological care, and critical care caseload familiarity
• Patient and family education techniques
• One-on-one clinical care and therapeutic interventions
• Teamwork, collaboration, and interdisciplinary communication
• Ability to manage a dynamic, fast-paced hospital caseload
