Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour day shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off; typical block schedules include 3x10 or 4x10 (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM). Weekends required on a Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon rotation. Day shift.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to create meaningful plans of care
• Provide gait training, mobility training, and prosthetic training when appropriate
• Deliver safe lifting and transfer care using Hoyer and sit-to-stand lifts
• Monitor vital signs and adjust interventions for cardiopulmonary or complex medical patients
• Document assessments, reassessments, progress notes, and discharge plans in Epic
• Collaborate with nursing, respiratory, social services and rapid response teams for coordinated care
• Educate patients and families with clear home exercise programs and safety planning
• Manage a caseload of approximately 10-12 patients per day while prioritizing patient safety and outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Washington State Physical Therapy license required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience; acute care experience required
• Charting experience in Epic is required; quick EMR learning is a plus
• BLS certification preferred
• Comfortable with block schedules, floating between units, and occasional weekends
• Strong time management, willingness to ask questions, and a team-player attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Assessment skills: AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain and sensory assessment, strength testing
• Mobility skills: gait training, use of assistive devices, transfers, sit-to-stand and Hoyer lift use
• Cardiopulmonary knowledge: COPD, CHF, post-op cardiac care, breathing techniques
• Neurologic and ortho populations: post-stroke rehab, Parkinson's, amputations, total joint replacements
• Documentation: plan of care, short and long term goals, reassessments, discharge summaries
• Equipment familiarity: hospital beds, specialty beds, rollators, wheelchairs, sliding boards
• Professional skills: patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, efficient time management
• Ability to manage moderate-to-high patient volumes in a short-term acute care setting
