Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and validate medication orders using Dose Edge and Meditech to ensure safe, accurate therapy
• Perform clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants to optimize patient outcomes
• Oversee sterile IV compounding procedures and verify Dose Edge checks for accuracy
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis checks and first dose/emergency box management
• Conduct medication verification and review for inpatient populations across a 285-bed hospital
• Provide consultative support for pain management and collaborate with care teams on medication plans
• Document interventions and communicate effectively with nursing and provider teams during night coverage

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited pharmacy school (PharmD or equivalent required/preferred)
• Current license to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — must be active
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience (experience with overnight/night coverage a plus)
• Experience with sterile compounding and supervising pharmacy technicians
• Familiarity with Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and Meditech
• ACLS and BLS preferred; NICU experience a strong plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Dose Edge verification workflows
• Experience with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Pak Edge
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR for order review and documentation
• Strong clinical knowledge of vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing
• Skilled in sterile IV compounding best practices and quality assurance
• Excellent supervisory and communication skills for leading pharmacy techs during night shifts
