Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify, dispense, and supervise safe medication use for an inpatient 285-bed facility
• Perform sterile compounding and use Dose Edge to verify sterile IV preparations
• Oversee and mentor pharmacy technicians, including Pyxis and first-dose checks
• Conduct medication verification and clinical dosing for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Provide pain consults and collaborate with the care team for optimal patient outcomes
• Document interventions and communicate effectively with nursing and providers
• Use Meditech EMR to manage orders, medication histories, and clinical interventions

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (required)
• Licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri (MO) — active license required
• Pharmacist licensure and ability to meet credentialing requirements
• Minimum 1 year of relevant inpatient pharmacy experience (as listed)
• Comfort with sterile compounding and supervising technicians
• ACLS and BLS preferred
• NICU experience is a plus

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with Dose Edge verification workflows
• Familiarity with Pyxis and Pak Edge medication systems
• Proficient using Meditech EMR
• Strong sterile compounding technique and medication verification skills
• Clinical dosing knowledge for vancomycin, aminoglycosides, and anticoagulants
• Ability to supervise and train pharmacy technicians
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
