Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians by preparing patients and exam rooms for efficient, compassionate care
• Take and record vital signs, ensuring accuracy and clear documentation
• Support patient intake and discharge processes with a warm, professional approach
• Document encounters accurately in the electronic health record and maintain patient confidentiality
• Help maintain a clean, stocked, and safe clinical environment at the St. Louis site
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Participate in orientation activities and support training for new team members

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) desired when available
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
• Comfort working in a clinical setting with direct patient contact
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Prior outpatient or clinic experience is a plus but not strictly required

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Medical Assistant certificate or diploma preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with taking vitals and basic clinical measurements
• Comfort using electronic health record systems and accurate data entry
• Strong infection control and safety practices
• Good time management and the ability to multi-task in a busy clinic
• Compassionate patient interaction and clear verbal communication
• Basic administrative skills such as scheduling and patient check-in
