Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to laboring patients and their families throughout labor and delivery
• Monitor maternal and fetal status using established protocols and escalate concerns promptly
• Perform assessments, intervene as needed, and participate actively in deliveries and neonatal stabilization
• Collaborate with obstetrics, anesthesia, pediatrics and ancillary teams to ensure smooth, safe care transitions
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Participate in unit-specific competency testing and maintain readiness for emergency responses

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure appropriate for Ohio (License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Up-to-date occupational health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, fit test, physical/health statement
• Successful Trinity 10-panel drug screen and color vision testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical skills and fetal monitoring interpretation
• Neonatal resuscitation knowledge aligned with NRP standards
• Proficiency in basic life support and stroke scale (NIHSS) assessments
• Clear, timely clinical documentation and handoff communication
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric settings
• Teamwork, situational awareness, and rapid escalation when emergencies arise
