Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mobility and safe transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Help create a warm, dignified environment for residents through respectful interaction
• Assist with meal service, personal hygiene, and toileting needs with sensitivity
• Communicate clearly with the care team to ensure continuity and safety of care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent state nursing assistant credential
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
• Experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background screening, TB test, and required immunizations per facility policy
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to work independently on per diem assignments

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-recognized nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-centered care
• Skilled in assisting with ADLs, transfers, and mobility support
• Basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and families
• Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
• Comfortable learning and using electronic charting or facility documentation systems
