Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform adult echocardiography studies including 2D imaging, Doppler CW and PW, and color flow mapping with accuracy and compassion
• Conduct 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) as needed to support diagnostic and procedural teams
• Evaluate and document valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, and cardiac effusions
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the cardiac care team to provide timely acute hospital patient care
• Accurately enter study results and patient data into the EMR system (Epic) and ensure clear communication of findings
• Participate in on-call coverage and float to other departments to support unit needs
• Maintain equipment competency and assist with use of Canon i700 and i900 devices
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and professional dress code standards while delivering high-quality care

Qualifications

• RDCS required; ARDMS or CCI also accepted
• Active AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years experience in an acute hospital setting
• Competent to proficient in adult echocardiography modalities including 2D, Doppler (CW & PW), color flow mapping, and valvular disease studies
• Experience with 2D and 3D TEE
• Familiarity with Epic EMR (Epic implemented November 1, 2025) and ability to document accurately
• Pediatric echocardiography experience is a plus but not required
• Willingness to float to other departments and participate in on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Adult echocardiography (2D, Doppler CW & PW)

• 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
• Cardiomyopathies, congenital heart disease, pericardial disease, and effusion evaluation
• Proficiency with Canon i700 and i900 imaging equipment
• Experience documenting in Epic EMR
• Acute hospital patient care workflows and on-call responsiveness
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
