Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to acquire high-quality diagnostic images that help clinicians make confident decisions
• Perform patient assessments and prepare patients for imaging procedures with compassion and clear communication
• Ensure radiation safety protocols and infection control procedures are rigorously followed
• Collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to optimize imaging protocols and troubleshoot technical issues
• Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation in PACS/EMR systems
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by providing reassurance and clear instructions during exams
• Participate in equipment checks and routine maintenance to keep the department running smoothly

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiography or CT (or equivalent) — hold onto those credentials
• Active state technologist license or ability to obtain Florida licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of CT imaging experience (as noted in the job posting)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Strong patient care skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently on overnight shifts

Education

• Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist or CT technologist program
• High school diploma or GED required; advanced imaging coursework preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with CT protocols, patient positioning, and contrast administration basics
• Familiarity with PACS, RIS, and electronic medical record systems
• Solid understanding of radiation safety principles and ALARA practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
• Ability to prioritize cases and handle an urgent imaging workload with calm and efficiency

After your shift you can visit nearby Tampa attractions like Busch Gardens, stroll the Tampa Riverwalk, explore historic Ybor City’s restaurants and nightlife, or take a short drive to Gulf Coast beaches such as Clearwater and St. Pete.
