Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care and injury prevention services at contracted high school events and after-school activities
• Perform thorough assessments: collect histories, conduct musculoskeletal exams, diagnose injuries, and develop return-to-play and rehabilitation plans
• Manage concussion care: assess, monitor symptoms, supervise graduated return-to-play progression, and make safe return decisions
• Document treatments, evaluations, and functional progress assessments accurately and promptly
• Deliver occupational health and rehab services including post-offer employment testing, desk assessments, and job-specific conditioning programs
• Coordinate coverage schedules for events and work collaboratively with coaches, parents, employers, therapists, and physicians
• Support the orthopedic clinic as a physician extender: take histories, assist with scheduling surgeries, and educate patients
• Analyze root causes of injuries and recommend prevention strategies to reduce future risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• 1+ years of related work experience required
• Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin required
• Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers required
• BLS certification required
• Valid current driver’s license required
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and strong computer proficiency

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in musculoskeletal examination and injury evaluation
• Experienced in concussion evaluation and management
• Skilled in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency care
• Comfortable performing functional progress assessments and post-offer employment testing
• Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and compassionate patient care
• Able to coordinate event coverage and support orthopedic clinic workflows
