Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist nursing staff with patient ambulation, transfers, and positioning
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vitals and documenting care accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection-control practices
- Build positive relationships with patients and families to promote comfort and dignity
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working directly with patients
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
- Previous CNA experience preferred but new grads with certification are welcome
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of patient care fundamentals and ADL assistance
- Familiarity with infection prevention and safety protocols
- Basic vital sign measurement and documentation skills
- Ability to follow care plans and report patient changes accurately
- Compassionate bedside manner and good interpersonal skills
- Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
