Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care procedures with professional judgment and attention to safety
• Assess patients across the lifespan and respond to changing clinical needs
• Follow physician orders and hospital policies to deliver high-quality care
• Apply nursing policies and procedures to ensure consistent standards of care
• Exercise independent clinical judgment when completing assignments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Provide culturally sensitive care to Navajo, Hopi and other community members
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes accurately and timely

Qualifications

• Valid, current, full and unrestricted Nursing License to practice in any U.S. state, territory or Puerto Rico
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in an acute or sub-acute facility
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
• Complete Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) within six months of hire
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) completed within six months of hire
• Med/Surg and acute/sub-acute clinical nursing experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg clinical knowledge and acute/sub-acute care experience
• Patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Ability to follow physician orders and implement care plans
• Familiarity with nursing policies, procedures and standards of care
• Independent clinical judgment and strong critical thinking
• Comfort working in a diverse, culturally rich community setting
• Experience with emergency and perioperative support helpful given facility services
