Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert couplet care for mother and baby, ensuring safety and comfort through labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal status using GE and OBIX electronic fetal monitoring and respond to changes promptly
• Circulate in the OR for C-sections, working smoothly with surgical techs and anesthesia teams
• Administer and titrate Pitocin and other set-rate drips per unit protocols
• Perform Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and ACLS/BLS interventions when needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
• Collaborate with charge nurse, house supervisor, and interdisciplinary team to support unit flow
• Participate in orientation and float between L&D, Postpartum and Mother/Baby as required

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (eligible to practice in Kansas)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; labor & delivery / LDRP experience strongly preferred
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NRP certifications required
• Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification or demonstrated competency
• Comfort circulating in the OR and providing couplet care for mother-baby dyads
• Ability to titrate Pitocin and manage common obstetric drips per policy
• Willingness to float across L&D, Postpartum and Mother/Baby and work every other weekend

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency with fetal monitoring systems (GE and OBIX) and recognizing abnormal tracings
• Strong clinical assessment skills for obstetric and neonatal patients
• Experience with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• Familiarity with AWHONN guidelines and best practices for maternal-newborn care
• Skills in neonatal resuscitation, ACLS, and BLS protocols
• Comfort working within a level 3 acute care obstetric unit and collaborating in OR settings
