Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide surgical case assistance to ensure procedures run smoothly and efficiently
• Prepare the operating room and supplies using surgeon preference cards and aseptic technique
• Maintain a sterile field from opening supplies through dressing placement
• Assist with patient positioning on the OR table under RN guidance
• Perform surgical prep under RN supervision and open sterile supplies as needed
• Clean and turnover the room promptly to minimize downtime between cases
• Perform Central Processing Coordinator duties on a rotating basis to ensure proper sterilization and instrument availability
• Update and maintain surgeon preference cards as changes occur to improve workflow

Qualifications

• Must hold State OR Tech Certification (Colorado) and maintain it throughout assignment
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant OR surgical tech experience
• Prefer graduate of an accredited surgical technology program and Certified OR Tech
• Comfortable working under RN supervision and participating in on-call rotation
• Strong communication skills and commitment to patient and staff safety

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program

Knowledge & Skills

• Aseptic technique and strict sterile field maintenance
• Sterile processing and instrument sterilization procedures
• Familiarity with operating room procedures and surgical prep
• Ability to prepare rooms and supplies using surgeon preference cards
• Patient positioning and safe handling in the OR environment
• Good communication with surgeons, nurses, patients, and support staff
• Attention to detail and ability to manage turnover efficiently
