Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to long-term care residents
- Assess residents regularly and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
- Perform routine clinical procedures and support activities of daily living
- Follow infection control and immunization requirements to protect residents and staff
- Participate in the PD pool to ensure consistent, high-quality coverage across the facility
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (Alabama required or compact RN eligible)
- Experience or comfort working in Long-Term Care (LTC) settings
- Required health items: MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Influenza vaccinations, physical/health statement, and Trinity 10 Panel drug screen
- Current basic clinical skills in medication administration, resident assessment, and documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a care team
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, BSN, or diploma) required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of long-term care best practices and resident-centered care
- Skilled in medication administration and clinical documentation
- Familiarity with infection prevention and immunization protocols
- Ability to assess changes in clinical status and escalate appropriately
- Comfort working independently during per diem shifts and integrating into existing teams
