Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track
• Supervise and mentor Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment
• Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine care within the Value-Based Care Clinic
• Teach residents to integrate social determinants of health and equity-centered clinical decision making
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and mentor residents in scholarly activities
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including care managers, pharmacists, and social workers
• Use population health tools and risk stratification to improve patient outcomes
• Provide formative and summative feedback to support resident professional growth

Qualifications

• Completion of ACGME or AMA approved residency
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
• Texas Medical License or willingness to obtain
• Interest in resident education and academic medicine
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary care environment
• Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care is highly preferred

Education

• ACGME or AMA approved residency in Internal Medicine
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Internal Medicine expertise with focus on health equity and value-based care
• Strong teaching and mentorship abilities for resident education
• Knowledge of population health tools and risk stratification strategies
• Experience with quality improvement methodology and evidence-based medicine
• Advanced communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to address social determinants of health in clinical practice
