Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients using Servo and 840 ventilators
• Perform timely patient assessments and adjust respiratory plans to improve outcomes
• Collect arterial blood gases (ABGs) from A-lines and sticks and interpret results to guide therapy
• Provide nebulizer treatments and other routine respiratory therapies with accuracy and compassion
• Assist with intubations, rapid responses, and code situations as a confident team contributor
• Document care thoroughly in the unit EMR and communicate changes effectively with the multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience (as stated in the posting)
• Comfort and experience with ventilator management and critical care patients
• Strong patient assessment skills and ability to perform ABG collection
• Team-player attitude and ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management (Servo and 840 familiarity a plus)
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Nebulizer treatments and routine respiratory procedures
• Assisting with intubation and participating in codes/rapid responses
• Patient assessment in critical care settings
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR systems (preferred)
