Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilated adult patients with expert ventilator management to optimize respiratory function
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and interpretation to guide clinical decisions
• Administer and monitor therapies such as nebulizers, chest physiotherapy, and inhaled nitric oxide
• Assist with bronchoscopy and intubation procedures and provide safe transport of mechanically ventilated patients within the hospital
• Operate and troubleshoot devices including GE ventilators, V60 BiPAP, and Airvo HFNC with confidence
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with nursing, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Contribute to a positive unit culture by mentoring peers and supporting departmental goals

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 1 year adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting (explicit requirement)
• Experience in adult critical care/ICU or ED environments preferred
• Demonstrated competence with ventilator management, BiPAP/HFNC devices, and arterial blood gases
• Comfortable with rotating nights and weekend coverage

• Ventilator management (GE ventilators)
