Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct and indirect nursing care to post-acute and long-term care residents
• Administer IV therapy, perform wound care, and complete geriatric assessments with attention to detail
• Partner with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to create safe, therapeutic care plans
• Tailor communication and interventions for residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia, using both verbal and non-verbal techniques
• Support short-term rehab patients on the Transitional Rehabilitation Unit to help them regain independence
• Float to other units as needed and step in to cover shifts to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Valid Maine LPN license or compact LPN license required
• Graduate of a Maine State Board approved LPN program or equivalent training
• IV therapy and wound care experience preferred
• 1-3 years of LPN/RN experience preferred in skilled nursing, rehab, or long-term care
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and flexibility to cover needs across units
• Ability to work with Alzheimer’s/Dementia populations and adapt care to challenging behaviors

Education

• Associate's in Nursing or graduation from a Maine State Board approved LPN course (or equivalent)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of post-acute long-term care and skilled nursing workflows
• Familiarity with geriatric assessment and management
• Comfort with medical terminology and documentation best practices
• Ability to use both verbal and non-verbal communication techniques with residents
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
• Adaptability to float to other units and support variable coverage
