Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, focusing on dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents' conditions and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Support meal service and ensure residents receive appropriate assistance during feeding
• Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team
• Promote a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors

Qualifications

• Valid GNA certification (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or obtain upon hire)
• Experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a calm, patient demeanor
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an accredited GNA program or equivalent certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and safe patient handling
• Comfort with assisting residents with mobility and transfers
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Good documentation practices and basic charting skills
• Teamwork mindset and ability to follow care plans and nursing directions
