Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care in an LDRP setting following AWHONN standards
• Manage active labor on a 1:1 basis and postpartum patients on a typical 1:3 ratio
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret EFM/EFM tracings; recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Conduct NSTs and sterile vaginal exams as indicated
• Administer medications and therapies such as magnesium sulfate and oxytocin (Pitocin) safely and effectively
• Triage obstetrical patients and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia for epidurals
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate handoffs clearly to ensure continuity of care
• Float between units as needed to support patient care across regional facilities

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license for practice (Oregon state licensure required for on-site practice)
• NRP required (per special requirements); BLS and FHM preferred
• Minimum 1 year LDRP experience required; 2 years preferred
• Comfortable administering magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and assisting with epidural anesthesia management
• Experience with external fetal monitoring (EFM) and NSTs
• Ability to safely float between units and maintain reliable personal transportation (vehicle required for assignment)
• Experience charting in Epic preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Labor and Delivery Management and 1:1 active labor care
• External Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• NST (Non-Stress Tests) administration and interpretation
• Sterile vaginal exam technique and obstetrical triage
• Medication administration including magnesium sulfate therapy and oxytocin (Pitocin)
• Pain management and support for epidural anesthesia
• Fetal monitoring technologies and clinical documentation in Epic
• Ability to work within AWHONN staffing standards and interdisciplinary teams
