Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert respiratory assessment and treatment for patients with respiratory insufficiency, asthma, pneumonia and emphysema
• Manage mechanical ventilation including set-up, adjustments and weaning on devices like Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide therapy
• Deliver airway management, CPT, nebulizer treatments, CPAP and BiPAP support
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and physicians to optimize patient respiratory outcomes
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and maintain clear patient records
• Participate in unit quality initiatives and support a patient-focused, team environment

Qualifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications (must have)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital RRT experience (required)
• Experience with mechanical ventilation and ABG analysis
• Preferred: trauma experience and prior Meditech EMR experience
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented night shift environment

Education

• RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator types (Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral)
• ABG collection and interpretation
• Patient assessment and acute respiratory care
• CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR workflows
• Strong critical thinking, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
