Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients in need
Assess and monitor patient respiratory status, adjusting treatments as required
Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment safely
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the care team to develop and execute patient plans
Document treatments, patient responses, and changes in condition accurately and clearly
Educate patients and families on respiratory care, equipment use, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT or CRT) or eligible for state licensure
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification
Acute care experience preferred; facility-specific orientation provided
Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work independently in fast-paced settings
Compliance with facility immunization and onboarding requirements

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent (preferred)
Advanced credentials (RRT) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Mechanical ventilation management and troubleshooting
Arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation
Airway management and aerosol therapy skills
Patient assessment and monitoring
Clear documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking
