Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert postpartum nursing care for high-risk obstetric patients following delivery
• Administer and monitor Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin (oxytocin) safely and effectively
• Recognize and intervene for postpartum hemorrhage and other obstetric emergencies
• Manage Foley catheters and perform fundus, lochia and perineum assessments and care
• Support recovery after cesarean and vaginal deliveries, including episiotomy/incision care
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC for continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work) to optimize patient outcomes
• Float between Issaquah and Edmonds campuses as needed and provide dependable coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN license (compact licenses accepted at Swedish facilities)
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum / high-risk obstetric nursing experience (screen out <2 years)
• Travel nursing experience required — this unit does not accept first-time travelers
• EPIC experience is a hard requirement
• Certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Proven ability managing postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, Foley care and substance withdrawal

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong EPIC charting and electronic documentation skills
• High-risk obstetrics and postpartum care expertise
• Hands-on experience with Magnesium Sulfate therapy and Pitocin administration
• Postpartum hemorrhage recognition and management
• Cesarean section and vaginal delivery postoperative care
• Episiotomy / incision care and fundus/lochia/perineum assessments
• Foley catheter management and newborn (infant) care familiarity
• Experience with substance withdrawal management and working in high-census units
• JADA experience preferred
