Shift Type: Variable/rotating shifts including weekdays and weekends: Day (4x10) 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Night (3x12) 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM; Call M-F 9:00 PM - 6:30 AM; Weekend coverage includes Saturday and Sunday 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 6:30 AM — rotating schedule including holiday coverage as needed

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care during a wide range of surgical procedures
• Circulate in the operating room with a focus on Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Spine and General Surgery cases
• Maintain accurate patient records in EPIC and support clear team communication
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient care
• Support trauma resuscitation and procedure workflows in a Level 1 Trauma operating room
• Adhere to sterile technique and surgical safety protocols on every case
• Assist with specialized cases including robotics, transplant and complex reconstructive procedures
• Float to other units within the OSU system as needed and contribute to unit flexibility

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (state requirements) and current BLS/BCLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
• Experience in Level 1 trauma center settings preferred
• EPIC experience required for charting and documentation
• NIHSS and additional perioperative certifications are a plus
• Comfort with circulating duties, perioperative care, and sterile technique
• Willingness to work variable shifts, take scheduled call, and float between units when requested

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and operating room nursing skills (circulating and sterile technique)
• Familiarity with a broad surgical case mix: general, orthopedic, neuro/spine, ENT, plastics, burns, urology, GYN and transplant
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgeries and laparoscopic procedures
• Trauma management experience for a high-acuity Level 1 Trauma OR
• Proficiency with EPIC for clinical documentation
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, interdisciplinary teams
