Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to NVICU patients, prioritizing safety and compassion
• Perform and assist with procedures including central line and arterial line care and intubations
• Provide specialized care for patients with EVDs and complex neuro/oncology needs
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Meditech
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios (approximately 2:1) and ensure continuity during shift changes
• Float to other ICUs, BMT or PCU as needed while maintaining professionalism and adaptability
• Contribute to unit best practices and uphold ICU policies and standards

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience (NVICU/critical care experience preferred)
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Clinical experience with central lines, arterial lines and intubation
• Comfort caring for neuro and oncology ICU patients and EVD care
• Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work nights and weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care nursing expertise (ICU-focused)
• Airway management and intubation skills
• Central line and arterial line post-procedure care
• EVD care and neuro ICU considerations
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records
• Ability to prioritize, triage and manage rapidly changing patient conditions
• Collaborative, accountable approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
