Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on clinical support and mentorship to new hires, experienced staff, and students
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education activities
• Serve as a clinical practice resource for complex patient care, medication administration, and treatment plans
• Act as a liaison between frontline nursing staff and leadership—communicate concerns and feedback clearly
• Analyze patient care data to identify practice gaps and implement targeted interventions
• Facilitate adoption of evidence-based practice standards, new protocols, and equipment with staff training
• Perform quality control audits and report nursing-related concerns to promote safety and regulatory compliance
• Advocate for patients and families while promoting ethical standards and the organization’s mission

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure for the State of Alaska
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings preferred
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and acute care clinical skills
• Safe medication administration and familiarity with clinical practice standards
• Experience with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Teaching methods and ability to develop effective educational content
• Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Effective interpersonal and communication strategies for staff and patient education
