Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography exams following department and radiologist protocols to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging
• Operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment, coordinating preventative maintenance and calling service engineers when needed
• Maintain radiation safety using ALARA principles and follow all FDA mammography guidelines
• Manage daily QA processes and document preventive maintenance and accreditation records
• Provide clear patient education, obtain informed consent, and verify patient identity and medical history before exams
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation, charge capture for procedures and supplies, and ensure prior studies are available for interpretation
• Support workflow by maintaining structured reporting for audits, statistical tracking, and resolving reporting issues
• Assist, train, and cross-train imaging staff; help with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transport when required
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold organizational policies, confidentiality, and professional standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Successful background check, pre-employment drug screen, and Employee Health clearance required
• Preferred: Two (2) years prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT and MRI
• Experience with PACS and RIS/HIS and electronic health record workflows preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (M) certifications required
• BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days

Knowledge & Skills

• Mammography imaging procedures and breast imaging protocols
• Radiation safety and ALARA practices
• Quality assurance (QA) processes and accreditation documentation
• PACS, RIS/HIS systems and EHR documentation
• Equipment operation, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Structured reporting and accurate audit/statistical tracking
• Patient education, informed consent, and strong communication skills
• Supply inventory management and basic clerical duties
