Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on a Med/Surg unit as a licensed Registered Nurse
Perform thorough assessments and monitor patient status throughout your shift
Administer medications and treatments safely and document them accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the care team to create and follow care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Keep clear, timely electronic medical records and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
Prioritize patient safety and escalate concerns when clinical changes occur

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) - active licensure required (eligible for Louisiana licensure)
Experience or demonstrated competency in Med/Surg nursing (core skill for this role)
Comfortable working 12.5-hour clinical shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Basic computer literacy for charting and electronic health record documentation

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of Med/Surg nursing principles and common interventions
Patient assessment and clinical monitoring
Safe medication administration and documentation practices
Effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination
Time management and prioritization during longer shift assignments
