Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging exams (radiography and CT) accurately and safely per physician orders
• Position patients of all ages for optimal image quality and diagnostic value
• Operate, monitor and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure peak performance
• Adjust and administer contrast media appropriately and safely
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation and records for all imaging procedures
• Follow federal/state regulations and departmental policies to uphold patient safety and compliance
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations and equipment failures
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to improve patient care

Qualifications

• Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• ARRT certification preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program with an Associate of Science degree
• Prefer 2 years experience in an acute care setting (or experience in at least two imaging modalities)
• Experience in a freestanding diagnostic imaging facility may be accepted in lieu of acute care experience
• Ability to work holidays, weekends and shared on-call coverage with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Education

• Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology (graduate of accredited radiology program)

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiography (X-ray) and Computed Tomography (CT) expertise
• Patient positioning and image production/quality optimization
• Radiation safety, shielding and regulatory compliance
• Contrast media adjustment and administration
• Equipment operation, monitoring and basic troubleshooting
• Documentation, record-keeping and scheduling/phone support
• Ability to work independently and prioritize under changing conditions
• Familiarity with CQI processes and departmental policies
