Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to an assigned patient population
• Perform assessments, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and follow-up care
• Coordinate care and referrals with specialists and interdisciplinary teams
• Document encounters accurately and maintain timely medical records
• Adhere to facility policies, security protocols, and correctional healthcare standards
• Participate in the rotating schedule and support coverage needs as assigned
• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a patient-centered environment

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
• Active CA medical license or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current DEA registration or ability to secure one
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Previous primary care or correctional healthcare experience is a strong plus
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility security clearance requirements

Education

• MD or DO
• Completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid clinical judgment in primary care and chronic disease management
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
• Strong communication skills for patient, peer, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Familiarity with correctional health policies and safety-conscious clinical practice
• Efficient time management and ability to work within a structured schedule
• Commitment to evidence-based care and quality improvement
